Welcome to my portfolio, my name is Andrew Ehrke. Within this portfolio, I will describe the 10 program learning outcomes delineated by Baker College School of Nursing Royal Oak, and how each outcome was achieved through evidence of various assignments, research papers, journaling, and class presentations to obtain a Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) degree. One will find evidence of value-based nursing, professional growth throughout the BSN program, academic achievements, and the drive for lifelong learning within this portfolio. 

About Me

I have always had a passion for the medical industry, but nursing has always held an interest with me because of how much time we spend in direct patient care. I am very empathetic towards individuals and believe I have a natural talent to form trusting bonds with people I work with and serve. In addition to appreciating the nursing process, I enjoy the holistic approach of nursing care which allows us to treat a patient as a “whole person” rather than merely their disease process. Another aspect of nursing that excites me is the endless opportunities for growth and advancement, a few areas I am interested in advancing my degree further with is nursing education and adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. While many areas of nursing excite me, I find myself most passionate towards areas of Emergency Care, Pediatric Care, Mental Health, and Neurology.
